Painted Stork

Mycteria leucocephala

Description:

It is large wading bird , there tetrial feather color give them there name painted stork. They have long yellow beak with a down curved tip.It about 90-110 cm tall when stand and about 2-4 kg in weight.

Habitat:

Found in wetlands of plains of Asia .

Notes:

These are not usually found in Punjab (my hometown) , but I was lucky to caught one of this in my camera in the open fields of paddy . May be this one landed there for rest because no other painted stork was there and after or before that no painted stork was seen ...
