Dodder (love vine)

Spaghetti like vine that completely encases some of the trees and shrubs out here. Dodder is a parasitic plant that can tap into the vascular system of the host plant and take nutrients from it instead of the ground.

Coastal scrub between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon. Dry sandy soil.

It's considered a noxious weed in Florida.
