Mantled Howler Monkey

Alouatta palliata

Description:

Small, black-furred monkey high in a tree.

Habitat:

Just inside the northern entrance of Cahuita National Park, 20 meters from the sand on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. Warm, humid day in the mid-morning.

Notes:

I've seen in several places people saying these monkeys always move in groups, but there were just these two within sight.
