The wasp has white band on the antenna. Its body is black with white dots on thorax and white-banded abdomen. The legs are orange-brown in colours.

It is indeed a wasp, most likely an ichneumon wasp. You might be able to narrow the ID down at this page: http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_.... I'd be curious as to what you come up with. Great photo of a very interesting looking insect. Nice job! Am enjoying your photography.
