Striped Albatross Butterfly

Appias libythea

Description:

White and yellow sitting on a yellow leaf in the sunshine and almost invisible.

Habitat:

Area leading to Belun village that adjoins the Belun eco resort. There is a tiny river that is in spate during the monsoons but otherwise pretty " docile." This area is just above the river and there is a narrow path fringed by trees and littered with dry leaves and weedy vegetation.

Notes:

I got just one shot. Second is a cropped version of the first. My ID is tentative...do correct it if I got it wrong. Third is habitat shot.

Thanks Tukup, and there is a local boat available too. I was too chicken (urban ) to risk a ride.

I'm looking all over for an Albatross (bird) as that's what shows on the thumbnail 🙂 Nice shot Sukanya. That third shot could have been taken in the Amazon where we were. Just lacks a dugout canoe pulled up to the bank. Thanks for sharing.
