The adult bald eagle is large bird of prey with a white head and tail and dark brown body. Feet and strongly-hooked beak are yellow. Immature bald eagles are brown with irregular white splotching under the wings and on the breast. Feet and beak of immature are brown. The adult plumage starts to appear in the fourth year. Females are larger than males.
These eagles are often found along water features, such as lakes and rivers. In winter I find them along the larger rivers, usually below dams and power plants where ice is kept at bay by warm or moving water.

Beautiful spotting! I love seeing these guys perched in trees! (sounds a bit stupid, but it's true!!) I'd love this in the Raptor mission...I think you forgot! ;-)
