Description:

Family Strigidae, this medium size owl live in Argentina from the middle central area to the north. There is a similar specie called Rufous-legged Owl that is preaty similar but lives in austral areas of Patagonia. Dotted in black or dark brown and white. With clear areas surrounding the eyes creating a mask and a rounded face.

Habitat:

Forested areas of the central and northern Argentina. Picture was taken in El Chorro, a small rural town in the western Formosa. And area in the Chaco Forest. Almost the limit with Paraguay,.
