Black Swallowtail

Description:

White caterpillar with black bands, each band having six yellow dots embedded in it. Swallowtail caterpillars have the unique habit of being able to every a pair of fleshy "horns" (osmetaria) from behind the head when disturbed. These glands also secrete odors that may be distasteful to potential predators.

Habitat:

Parsley plant.
