Description:

Buellia papillata is a crustose lichen. It's thallus is white, membranaceous, or a granulose or verrucose crust; lacking hypothallus (Thomson 1997).

Habitat:

Distribution data for U.S. states and Canadian provinces is known to be incomplete or has not been reviewed for this taxon. This curious looking lichen was found on a rock in central Washington.
