Land Snail (Nicaragua)

Description:

shell color: dark grey and sepia; length of neck ~2 inches; length of "eyes" ~1 inch, sheel length ~2 inches.

Habitat:

dry tropical rain forest; primary forest; pacific lowlands; paso del istmo (Isthmus passage); rainy season

Notes:

While cleaning the vetiver plants on the pyramid of fire at O, one of the youths called me over to observe the snail. It has been suggested by the fact that it lives and breaths on the land that it is of the informal group of the Gastropoda class called the "pulmonata".
