Ya agreed! The elk in Evergreen look so healthy compared to the ones I've even seen in Genesee! They are stunningly gorgeous right now! As for the old gal, I think you are right! Who knows, she could have parasites or something too!

Ya, agreed! The elk in Evergreen compared to Genesee look so much more healthy. They are amazingly gorgeous right now! That little deer must have been an old girl. She may have had parasites too, who knows!

Beautiful!! Love the babies!!! This series (and mine) make me think that your skinny mule deer is really a sickly older girl...I guess they all have to age and leave the breeding to the next generation, huh?? ;-)
