It is a very menacing ovipositor. :). Thanks for the correction. I was not aware of that

The angle makes the ID a little tough because it is hard to see how arched the back is. Compared to the photos in the reference, camel cricket is plausible but not definite. Bugs are a little out of my area of knowledge though.

Ah, but that is not a stinger. Female Orthopterans (crickets, grasshoppers, katydids) have ovipositors for laying eggs, but they definitely do not sting. I think Emma is correct in that this one is still a nymph.

I think it's a camel cricket. the stinger and forked feet look pretty characteristic. These like to inhabit basements, wells, and damp, dark, cool places. These things creep me out.
