Orange Bluet

Enallagma signatum

Description:

Small orange damselfly - although a species in the Bluet group it has orange and black markings instead of blue and black. Often confused with immature orange forms of female eastern forktails. ID keys are postocular spots and lower abdomen segment S9 is orange

Habitat:

Pond and lake margins

Notes:

Seen perched on W shore of Corning Lake, The Holden Arboretum, Lake County, Kirtland, OH
