Nephila clavipes
This is Sofia, the biggest Nephila clavipes i've ever found, well actually she found me, because she was in my bedroom... No idea how she got there. Because of her i learned some interesting things about this species... I noticed that she used to clean up her web every morning, and then fixed the little holes that the web had. And after every meal she threw away the leftovers. Then i saw her mating and how she ate her couple. She died about 2 weeks after i found her.

Thanks Eva
Alexis thanks but i knew she was completely harmless, so i wouldn't say i'm brave
Very beautiful markings~
Your very brave to put that on your arm! I would never do that because I am too scared of spiders.... Great find though!!
Thanks Lisa, actually i found some males and a few females, after sofi's dying but they all left after a couple of days (except Marie she stayed but she lived only a week, i guess the weather where i live is not good for them... Too cold)
Very cool observations! I hope you are blessed with many little Sofis!
