Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis
Native snake, with varying patterns. This one shows the three longitudinal stripe pattern. Can be distinguished from a ribbon snake by the lack of white spot in front of the eye.
Ranges widely, from forest to field, wetlands, marshes, meadows, etc.. But often found near water. Mostly eats amphibians and earthworms - and small fish, birds and rodents.
Captured as part of the BioDiversity Research Institute's BioBlitz at River Point Conservation Area in Falmouth, Maine.
