A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Cebus capucinus
The only capuchin in Central America, it is distinguished from other capuchins by their black body and white upper chest and head. They have prehensile tails which they use to grab food and balance in the trees. They eat mainly a variety of fruits and nuts, supplementing this with insects and small vertebrates.
Lowland dry forest
Very social and fun to watch! They made high pitched vocalizations when approached closely.
