Adult - Male has a chestnut underpart and blue rumped and upper tail coverts , lacks white on the wing unlike its cousin the blue capped rock thrush.
Open broad leaf and confiner forest and forest slope. Mainly found from 1200mts to 3300 mts
This bird is summer migrant to the Himalayas.Sighting of the female is tough as it is a very dull coloured .
