Eastern Rosella

Platycercus eximius

Description:

A medium size parrot with a red head & neck & white patches on it's cheeks. Wings are pale green & blue & it's also pale green & yellow on it's underbody. This one I believe is a juvenile, hence the total green colour under its body & its red neck colours aren't fully developed yet. They feed on seeds, nuts, fruits, insects & nectar & are found in native bushland, parks, farmland, golf courses & gardens.

Habitat:

Spotted in a local park. I'm hoping I have the correct ID on this parrot as I think they are usually found much further south than where I live. This is the first time I've seen one in this area.
