Eastern Pondhawk

Erythemis simplicicollis

Description:

Bright pale blue dragonfly with clear, black edged wings

Habitat:

Edge of forest, shoreline

Notes:

This dragonfly sat in the rock as I took it's picture. My husband swatted a deer fly and tossed it towards the dragonfly. The dragonfly took off, snatched it midair, and returned to the rock to enjoy its meal. My new best friend
