Description:

The only member of its genus widespread in the east. It is a leafhopper, belonging to the family Cicadellidae. It is called a sharpshooter because it has the ability to expel excess watery waste with such force that it propels itself some distance.

Found with a sweep net, then brought back to my house to photograph.
