Description:

I think it is a wasp, mostly black but with some red in the wings and the abdomen. Very slim waist. About 3 cm long. It is a mud dauber.

I knew this wasp looked familiar! This spotting was in Pennsylvania but it looks very much the same as yours. May be a good lead to id yours. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/773...
