Libellula pulchella
Thanks Geodialist! I was going away for a bit and just wanted to get these pictures up so I didn't have a massive buildup and so I uploaded them without IDs (bad habit to get into). However the site recommendation is great and I'll be sure to use it for the next set of D&Ds. How is the guide coming along?
Hey "Stothart!" I noticed you posted a lot of unknown spottings of dragonflies recently. Several of the dragonflies, such as this one, are fairly easy to identify by referring to one of several good Web sites related to dragonflies and damselflies such as "Odonata Central" and "Bug Guide." A helpful suggestion (for all D&D enthusiasts): Visit the Odonata Central Web site to see whether there's a D&Ds checklist for your location. A checklist should enable you narrow the field of possible identities to only D&Ds you're likely to see at your location. http://www.odonatacentral.org/index.php/...
