Eolophus (Cacatua) roseicapillus
Galahs are 35cm long including tail. Back, wings & tail are light grey, the rest of the body is pink. They are usually seen in flocks of 30 to 1000, foraging together or flying over the plains. In the breeding season they seperate into pairs that may be permanent. Breeding is mostly August-November, but I believe this was a breeding pair. Males have a brown eye & females, pink, though it is unclear in these shots. They look to me to be preening each other & whispering romantic secrets :)
Found throughout most of Australia. These were spotted on the way to work in a dead tree.
