I like the setting, although I can't figure out what it is your bird is sitting on! Love it. I suspect that this is a violet-green swallow. They should be common where you live and they can certainly resemble tree swallows, but there is quite a bit of white on the face and the other markings resemble a violet-green swallow.

Notice the white markings on the face of the violet-green and the black mask around the eyes of the tree swallow. What do you think?
