Sharp-winged Monkey Flower

Mimulus alatus

Description:

Approximately 3' tall plant, with pairs of large blue blooms, with 2 lobed upper lip and 3 lobed lower lip. Sharp "winged" leaves are opposite on the square stem.

Habitat:

Found in a wet ditch-line between the road and my mowed yard.

Notes:

This is the first year in the last 7 years that I've lived here to notice this plant in this area.
