A genus of annuals and perennials of the Aster family. The Latin name was given in 1753 by Karl Linnaeus, the name was formed from the name of the Etruscan deity Tages, who was born from the furrow.

Habitat:

Family: Asteraceae (Asteraceae) Fun fact: The leaves are used in Mexico for intermittent fever, cachexia, constipation and as a diuretic.
