Great spotting, Kera! Since you now know the identity of your organism, please go ahead and fill in the scientific name field. This allows the spotting to fully enter the database and become complete, letting groups and individuals to use the data and find your spotting. It also takes the spotting off the "unidentified" list. Thank you!

I've seen a number of these on the opposite side of the lagoon from where you were, at Agate Beach in Bolinas. Beautiful little things.

Welcome to Project Noah! Take a look at my suggestion. Unfortunately it's only at the order level. It would be difficult to narrow it down to the species, let along genus or family.
