Plant small, to 3 mm; short turf; dark green; leaves 1mm with conspicuous hyaline awn- not terete; median leaf cells thick walled slightly pitted or bulging, basal cells long rectangular; presence or red gemmae on leaf lumen near leaf apex.

Habitat:

Growing at 2047 meters in a seam on a granite outcrop near cutthroat pass, WA
