Galahs

Eolophus roseicapilla

Description:

I hadn't seen these guys for many months. I hope they are bringing springtime. They were feeding on dandelion roots... one of their favourites. These birds are regularly see in open fields and parks around here but they never seem to go into the slightly hilly areas only a few hundred metres away.

Habitat:

Often in flocks of up to 20 to 30 they are most common in urban fringe areas.

Notes:

Also known as Rose-breasted Cockatoo, Galah Cockatoo, Roseate Cockatoo, Pink and Grey
