A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Francolinus pondicerianus
On an early morning, two males were involved in a territorial fight and gave me an opportunity to capture this behaviour.
Tal Chappar Bird Sanctuary which is a small yet pulsating flat saline depression with open grassland.
These fairly shy birds are often seen fleeing into the bushes, even before you can think of taking a picture. Spotted this male battling it out with a rival and was so engrossed that I could spend quite some time watching them.

Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
