Green Frog

Rana clamitans

Description:

This species is a mid-sized true frog and adult green frogs range from 5–10 cm (2.0–3.9 in) in body length.

Habitat:

Green frogs live wherever there is shallow fresh water—ponds, road-side ditches, lakes, swamps, streams, and brooks. Most often seen resting along the shore, they leap into the water when approached.

Notes:

There are two subspecies—the Bronze Frog and the Northern Green Frog.
