Description:

Inhabits large rivers and streams where sand or mud is abundant. It has also been found in large oxbow lakes and constructed reservoirs.

Habitat:

In artificial lake (Lake Drummond) in park adjacent to urban nature trail.

Scott - very nice! I don't recall seeing a clearer picture of a softshell turtle in water before. And, its a midland smooth softshell! Based on my adventures in the Springfield area, these are much less frequently encountered than spiny softshells. Very cool!
