Description:

Very fuzzy bee with orange and red lower half of body. We normally see brown, black/yellow honey, bumble or carpenter bees.

Habitat:

Streetside garden, shady and moist with burrows around the pots.

Notes:

Tawny Mining Bee: Mining bees (the correct scientific name for this genus being ‘Andrena’) are one of the largest groups of solitary bees. It is believed to consist of over 1,300 known species of bees across the world.
