Dark-eyed Junco (Slate-colored)

Junco hyemalis

Description:

This bird looked more purplish-gray with my eyes. The back and tail of the bird seem to be a single color. The rump of the bird is white, extending to the breast, and stopping half way up the breast. The top half of the breast and throat of the bird is the same color as the back and tale.

Habitat:

This bird was at the top of a mountain in the smokies of North Carolina. Very close to the Tennessee, Georgia boarder of North Carolina.

Notes:

I have tried to I.D. this species and am having no luck!
