Spotting

Description:

When first found, this caterpillar was only 1/2 inch long. One week later he was 1 & 1/2 inches(1st pic). Pale/yellow body and "hair."

Habitat:

Found on a Cape Gooseberry plant in our family's garden. Eats the leaves of the gooseberry.

Notes:

Transported to a jar with live gooseberry branches on Aug. 4. 1st Picture taken on Aug. 10. Began spinning its cocoon on Aug. 13. 2nd Picture taken on Aug. 23. 3rd Picture taken after hatching on Aug. 26.
