How cute! You might like to add this to the reptiles of the world mission, but please remove it from Signs of Wildlife as that mission is for tracks, webs, nests & other signs but not the actual animals.

Then given your location, house gecko is a good bet. Especially since it has the sticky pads on its feet.
Hatchling leopard geckos(about the size of your visitor, 3-4 inches) are shown
The adults are twice as big, have the distinctive body shape of a ground dwelling gecko and smaller toes with claws ratehr than pads

This was found in my house we do not however own any reptiles

This is definitely not a leopard gecko. It is either a pet or a feral gecko and the best guess is either mediterranean or asian house gecko
