Description:

Beautiful reddish brown cap with white stipe and black scabers.

Habitat:

Conifer forest including Douglas fir and Sub-alpine fir. Some pine - mostly dying from the pine beetle infestation. A few birch which are dying at the top.

Notes:

Found beside the trail at Lightning Lakes in Manning Park, BC.

Yes, this is a great shot of a bolete, showing the underneath and stipe so well.

I think if you moved Photo # 2 to first place position, it would be good. #2 shows the mushroom best! I will link my photos to your spotting if I get them organized tonight.
