Wandering glider dragonfly

Pantala flavescens

Description:

I believe this is one of the dragonflies that flies around my yard morning, noon, and night eating small bugs. I've never seen one of them perch at all, but I looked out the door during a rainstorm and noticed one sitting on a tomato stake. I've never been able to get a clear photo of one in flight, so this is all I have to go on. Of course as soon as I stepped closer to try and photograph it from another angle, it flew away. Still...better than nothing!

Habitat:

Typically, flying constantly around the neighborhood and voraciously eating smaller bugs.
