Description:

Extremely common polypore mushroom found throughout the world. Distinguished by the concentric zones of contrasting colors. Usually seen in the range of light tan, brown to cinnamon red, but other colors are possible.

Habitat:

Decaying wood.

Notes:

Recognized as a medicinal mushroom in Chinese medicine under the name Yun Zhi.
