Pollywogs or Tadpoles

Description:

Sometimes the distinction is made that the polliwog is the young frog with just a tail and the tadpole is the young frog that has both a tail AND legs. other than that it depends on the area you are in as some people call them one thing and others call them another. These are just starting their journey to becoming a frog or toad.

Habitat:

Main drainage ditch for our development.

Notes:

The time it takes tadpoles to undergo metamorphosis to the adult stage varies quite a bit. Usually it can be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, but for a few frog species (such as some bullfrogs) remain in the tadpole stage for up to 2 years. I intend to try to keep track of this group and document their changes.
