Description:

Small thumb size fruit among little clusters of leaves. It's an evergreen ground covering shrub.

Habitat:

Dry sandy soil of an ancient sand dune system.

Notes:

The fruit is eaten by the gopher tortoise and other animals as well as people. It's also called a ground oak.
