Bull Frog

Lithobates catesbeianus

Description:

Bullfrogs are typically large, green or gray-brown with brown spots and have easily identifiable circular eardrums, or tympanum, on either side of their heads. Also known as Rana catesbeiana by some authors.

Habitat:

Ponds, lakes, and other permanent wetlands

Notes:

Seen perched on west shore of Corning lake, The Holden Arboretum, Lake County, Kirtland, OH
