Mediterranean gecko

Hemidactylus turcicys

Description:

Bumpy, spotted skin, sticky toe pads, tiny claws. These geckos can lose their tail to escape predators. It takes about 3 weeks to regenerate. This one looks like it might be in the process of doing that.

Habitat:

Area near house, in yard with plants chosen to attract wildlife.

Notes:

They often hang out near lights at night, and love to eat cockroaches and moths.
