Dark Marathyssa Moth

Description:

Family: Eutellidae. A small 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) A common Marathyssas moth. Violet gray FW is marked with blackish line and bands of pale red. Hosts: Staghorn sumac and poison ivy. Two broods.

Habitat:

Near woodlands and meadow. Attracted to light

Notes:

Other moth is Serpentine Webworm Moth (Herptogramma aeglealis) with eggs.
