White Tailed Deer

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

These are two White Tailed Deer Fawns. One of them is oddly colored and smaller in size. When I first spotted these two in the street, I thought a fawn was next to a goat but when I looked closer the odd looking one was white with the brown fawn spotted colors mixed. A few years ago we had an albino fawn in the neighborhood but I have never seen one that is mixed like this. I would love some information if anyone has any.

I recently saw a piebald deer in Cranston RI but unfortunately didn't get a picture. I had no idea they existed until I saw one. It was very exciting!

That color is called piebald. It is pretty uncommon but does occur.
