Spectacled Tyrant

hymenops perspicillatus

Description:

This Spectacled Tyrant, or "Pico de Plata" as we call it, was seen today at "Playa Penino's" reserve which is a natural reserve where many kinds of different birds can be seen. The Spectacled Tyrant is found near water and here it is at the Santa Lucia river's shore.

Habitat:

It lives near water: lagoons and on river´s and stream´s shores. It can also be seen near flooded lands. In this particular case, it had rained a lot and it was not exactly at the river´s shore, it was near some flooded pastures.
