Treron phoenicoptera
Stocky bird. Shades of green, yellow, ashy-bluey. Touch of lilac or is it magenta on the wings. It is shy bird that blends into the leaves such that even if there is a foraging flock you can hardly see one.
Lagerstroemia Tree just outside my boundary wall. Since I am not venturing out at all, I sit on my rooftop terrace, camera in hand hoping for someone to drop in...this bird must have heard my silent call ...it perched just long enough for me to take 3 or 4 shots.

It is such a wonderful experience when wildlife comes to call, and doubly so when you're housebound or incapacitated! I believe that animals appear when we need them the most, and they bring with them their own medicine or messages. All we need to do is be still and aware. I wonder what this bird bought for you? Spirit knows, even if we don't. How fortunate you are, Sukanya, to have your beautiful rooftop terrace where nature can pay a visit :)
Thank you, Neil. Sorry I missed filling in the scientific name...have done that now. I am just so...scrambled these days...
Lovely spotting, Sukanya, and such an attractive bird. The feel good story was excellent also. I hope he managed to meet up with the migratory flock. Kind of sad to think he was last seen alone after release. Oh, you haven't added the scientific name to that field - Treron phoenicoptera.
