Description:

This bracket fungus is a type of polypore. It is fairly thin and flexible. It is characterized by rings of color and a fine pore surface on the underside. It is one of the most common mushrooms in the woods of North America and can be found assisting in decomposition of various hardwoods.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Found on a hardwood log.
