Turkey Tail

Trametes versicolor

Description:

A small group of carpophores, some 3 to 10 cm large, semi-circular in shape. Several concentric semi-circles of blackish or dark brown and paler brown; white-grey below, with large visible pores.

Habitat:

Seen in a town park, well wooded mainly with old deciduous trees and with a large meadow in the middle; situated just in between Jura Mountains and Lake Geneva (Leman). The tree stump at the edge of the wooded area, bordering the meadow.
