Townsend's solitaire

Myadestes townsendi

Description:

Townsend's solitaire is a mostly grey medium size thrush with a long dark tail. White eye-ring and a short dark bill. No wing bars but there are brown and white markings. The white markings are better seen during the flight (pic4).

Habitat:

Spotted in the South Cle Elum Ridge of the Cascade Mountains. A wide canyon that was hit hard by forest fires a couple of years ago (pic3). Mostly a coniferous forest above 2000 ft.
